Rube Goldberg Machine

← Back to Portfolio

This was a group project I completed during my sophomore year of high school. We worked together to build a Rube Goldberg machine that performed a simple task through a series of complicated, creative chain reactions.

My specific role was designing and building one of the key simple machines in the sequence. I was responsible for creating a section that used the momentum of a falling ball as the input. The ball triggered a pulley system I engineered, which lifted an object high enough to release a toy car that rolled down a ramp to continue the chain reaction.

It was an exciting challenge that required a lot of planning, coordination, and problem-solving. I learned how important timing and precision are in mechanical systems, especially when multiple pieces rely on each other working perfectly.
